The Prairie School Mission

The Prairie School is a child-centered, college-preparatory day school whose mission is to educate our children, develop their individual talents, interests and abilities, and affirm their dignity and self-worth.

We foster academic excellence, leadership and creativity, emphasizing individual success while also recognizing the importance of service to the community.

The School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvements. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, The College Board, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Cum Laude Society, and the National Association of College Admissions Counselors.

The Prairie School is an academic community whose doors are open to all students without regard to race, religious, age, sex, or national origin, and complies with the regulations regarding handicapped students required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
