The Early School: Activities
Man reading to child
A FOCUS ON LEARNING THAT IS FIRST HAND
Let's cook and bake and enjoy sampling the goodies we made ourselves. Or, let's create a town in class and see who and what we need to make it work. By "doing," early schoolers learn about the patterns of organization and collaborative, cooperative learning. When the things work, it's because everyone contributes to the success of the whole.

USING TECHNOLOGY
Math and history are supported by daily use of computers in classrooms. Age-appropriate educational computer games are also available.

FIELD TRIPS
Let's go on the bus and see what's out there. Where to? The symphony, the theatre, the zoo, the historical society, the museum, and the farm. Let's talk to people and look at these special places and learn! Our field trips are a delightful way to broaden the scope of a pre-schooler's world.

PARENTS ARE INTERESTING, TOO
Parents are encouraged to visit the Early School. "Show and Tell" becomes even more interesting as parents and special friends open windows to their careers, hobbies, special talents, and interests by sharing in the classroom.

DEVELOPING HEARTS AS WELL AS HANDS AND MINDS
In all of the activities that take place in the Early School, we work toward planting the seeds of honor, integrity, tolerance, and civility at an age-appropriate level. We concentrate on learning to work, share, and play with others, to appreciate what others do, and to understand that everybody is different, but all are worthy of respect. These enduring values are the cornerstones for ongoing development throughout their education.
