Days are filled with sights and sounds and feelings - everything from the prickly hairs of fuzzy caterpillars to squishy finger paints. Yet beneath all of the fun lies the early social and intellectual development of the young child. The "curriculum" of the Early School prepares the pre-schooler in the skills needed for a successful kindergarten experience.
Early schoolers learn to:
- Express themselves clearly
- Have the confidence to ask questions
- Know how to listen and follow directions
- Organize themselves and their things
- Understand the need for self-control
- Develop a sensitivity and respect for others and their property
- Cooperate and collaborate
- Appreciate the work of others
- Anticipate the consequence of their actions
- Acquire the social and emotional skills for learning with others
