ENGLISH
Courses emphasize in-depth reading comprehension, inference, synthesis, and analysis. A creative writing elective and Advanced Placement English are offered.

MATHEMATICS
All of our graduates complete four years of math courses. Students regularly score above the 90th percentile in the Mathematics's Association of America's High School Math Exam, one of the most demanding tests in the nation.

SCIENCE
Biology, chemistry, and physics are offered along with electives in geology, astronomy, zoology, and environmental science. AP courses in chemistry and biology are available.

SOCIAL STUDIES
AP classes and electives in economics, American history, and international relations provide a global range of subjects as students study ancient and medieval worlds to modern times.

FRENCH OR SPANISH
Students may choose either language and take advantage of an AP course. Optional trips to Spain and France during the Interim program provide first-hand knowledge about these foreign cultures. Foreign language classes are encouraged to "visit" foreign countries through Internet research in the School's computer lab.

FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS
Electives are offered in art (including photography and glassblowing), orchestra, jazz, chorus, music theory, acting, technical theatre, and video production.

COMPUTER ELECTIVES
HyperStudio, word processing, and multi-media classes address the ever-changing technology of the 21st century. Upper School students may also take architectural design.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
A focus on exercise, proper nutrition, and weight control allow students to write their own personal fitness program.
