Support Prairie
Every non-profit organization - schools, colleges or universities, religious organizations, and similar groups - does some type of fundraising to support the mission of the organization. The Prairie School is no different.
What are some examples of fundraising at the School?
Fundraising at Prairie occurs in four main concentrations: Annual Fund, Financial Aid and Scholarship Fund, Major Gifts/Capital Campaigns and Endowment Giving.
Annual Fund
This is a yearly campaign to raise funds from our current families, alumni, friends, faculty and staff, past parents, corporations and foundations. These funds are used to balance the School's annual operating budget, a budget that includes strong support of academics, the arts and athletics. Participation is just as important as the amount of a gift. High levels of participation from all groups provide a great endorsement of the school and its mission. To support the 2009-2010 Annual Fund, DONATE NOW.
Financial Aid and Scholarship Fund
A significant part of what makes Prairie unique is the ability to provide need-based assistance to more than 40% of the students. The proceeds from the Joe Marino Memorial Golf Marathon and the Prairie Premiere directly support this program. By attending the Premiere, donating an item, signing up to golf in the marathon or sponsoring a golfer you can support this valued fund.
Major Gifts and Capital Campaigns
On occasion, the Board of Trustees and the Prairie Community recognizes the need for a major campus improvement; with these initiatives comes the need for a capital campaign. For more targeted campus improvements, the development office will look for specific major gifts to support those projects outside of the annual budget.
Endowment Giving
The key to sustaining the future of the school is a strong endowment. Prairie is fortunate to have a sufficient endowment, one that we are looking to grow for generations to follow. One way to provide endowment giving is to include the school in your estate planning. If you wish to discuss ways to include the future of Prairie in your planning, please contact the development office (at 262.260.4506 or via email ).
