PSC Boys’ Swimming first win in program history! | 12/8/2020
On December 8th, 2020, the Boys’ PSC Aquatics co-op swimming team claimed their first team win since the program began 3 years ago at a “Double Dual” which included teams from Whitewater, PSC, Delavan-Darien, Edgerton-Evansville. The Prairie St. Cat’s co-op team of a team of 5 boys (4 Prairie and 1 boy from St. Cat’s) scored 36 points against Edgerton-Evansville that scored 16. Boys’ Soccer #1 Seed in D3 State Tournament | 11/4/20
Fans may livestream the November 7th, 2020, D3 Boys’ Soccer State Tournament scheduled at Kewaskum High School on WIAA.TV. The winner of the #2 Seed game between the University School of Milwaukee and St. Lawrence Seminary (11AM) will play the winner of the #1 Seed game scheduled at 2PM between The Prairie School and Arcadia High School. The Championship Game begins at 7 PM. Good luck at State!
Boys’ Soccer D3 Sectional Champs | 10/31/20
Boys’ Soccer defeats Lake Mills 4-0 tl claim another Sectional Championship title! Prairie took the lead in the second minute with a goal scored by Junior Cameron McPhee. Senior Daniel Dreifuerst completed his second career hat trick with a penalty kick and two more goals. Prairie’s strong defense against Lake Mills resulted in a second straight shoutout game. Eric Morocco’s one-on-one defense along with midfielder Carsten Ovesen didn’t give one of Lake Mills strongest players a chance to score. Girls’ Golf – 3 players named All State Academic | 10/30/20
Congratulations Emily Eitel (2021), Madeline Maraccini (2022) and Sophia Lawler (2023) for earning this designation of high honors! Students are nominated by GCAW member coaches if they meet the following criteria: 1) A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25, 2) participation in at least 75% of their team’s varsity matches, and 3) are in grades 10-12.

Cross Country | 10/24/20
Prairie won the boys’ race during the Division III Sectional at UW-Parkside, which means the entire squad qualified for the WIAA state meet! This is the fifth time in school history the Hawks will appear at the meet, and only the first time in seven years. Additionally, sophomore Brie Luchun Ledvina qualified as an individual for the Girls’ Cross Country State meet! Click here to read the full Journal Times article.
Boys’ Varsity Soccer claimed another Regional Championship title! From the opening whistle, the team played effectively in all aspects of the game and decisively won against a defense-heavy opponent. Congratulations and good luck at Sectionals!

First place finishers include: Zoe Alessandro in two events: 200 Meter Individual Medley (2:44.65) and 100 Meter Breaststroke (1:21.59)
Third place finishers include: Abigail, Determan, Aly Gorbaty, Lili Larson Lizzy May in the 200 Meter Medley Relay (3:02.64); Zoe Dalessandro, Lizzy May, Lily Selky Marisol Valeriano in the 200 Meter Freestyle Relay (2:37.10) and Olivia Andresen, McKenna Barbee, Makaelyn Trujillo, Aly Gorbaty in the 400 Meter Freestyle Relay (5:45.98)
Girls’ Volleyball | 10/20/2020
Girls’ Varsity Volleyball defeats Heritage Christian 3:1! Noteworthy contributions are as follows: Keep Williams 17 Kills, Amelia Ropiak 16 kills, Cate Yunker 48 assists and Abby Decker 6 blocks.
Congratulations to Prairie’s Varsity Girls’ Golf team, who placed 2nd at the Division II State Golf Tournament! The team finished with a two-day score of 579, just 19 strokes behind champion, and one stroke better than defending state champion.

Girls’ Tennis – 5 Hawks advance to D2 Individual state | 10/7/20
Congratulations to the following girls for advancing to state scheduled for October 15th and 16th at Sports Core in Kohler: Molly Cookman (2022), 1 Singles special special qualifier; 1 Doubles partners Lily Jorgensen (2024) and Jaclyn Palmen (2023) special qualifiers; and 2 Doubles partners Madelyn Dreifuerst (2022) and Gabi Davis (2021) automatic qualifiers.

Boys’ Cross Country wins St. Catherine’s Quadrangular | 10/5/20
Prairie dominated the event at H.F. Johnson Park with five top finishers. Nolan Boerner was first in 19:05.01. Stephen McGravey-Tate was second in 19:09.9 and Vincent Praefke was third in 20:05.01. Cross Country Boys’ win the Prairie School Invitational | 10/1/20
Cross Country Girls place 2nd
Competing against six area schools at H.F. Johnson Park, the Boys’ Cross Country team earned 1st place, their second consecutive Prairie School Cross Country Invitational victory, and the Girls’ placed second.
Girls’ Tennis back to back Conference Champs! | 9/26/20
The Hawks scored 44 points to easily defeat Conference rivals. Prairie swept all three doubles championships and also won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Tori Walker defeated Caroline Roberts of Martin Luther 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2. Nareh Vartanian defeated Vicki Gonzalez of Martin Luther 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.
At No. 1, Lily Jorgenson and Jaclyn Palmen rolled to a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Kenosha St. Joseph’s Maddie and Katie Leinenweber 6-1, 7-5.
No. 2 Gabi Davis and Maggie Dreifuerst defeated Milwaukee Saint Thomas More’s Liz Wolf-Nowakowski and Alicia Caretta 6-1, 6-0.
Boys’ Soccer shut out Shoreland Lutheran 8-0 | 9/25/20
The Homecoming game was action packed! Daniel Dreifuerst scored a hat trick with two goals in the first seven minutes & a third goal in the second half as well as two first-half assists. Cam McPhee scored twice (Dreifuerst assist). Arjun Kumar scored one unassisted goal. Henry Schumacher (Calvin Sharpe assist), Jayce Jaramillo (McPhee assist) completed the scoring.

Girls’ Golf placed 2nd at the Racine County Open | 9/14/2020
Sophomore Sophia Lawler, a second-team All-County player last year, took second with an 81. Lawler shot 39 on the Red course and was one of only two players to shoot under 40 on either course. Freshman Kadyn Peery (92), junior Maddie Maraccini (93) and senior Sarah Fosbinder (94) finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.
Girls’ Tennis – Racine County Invitational | 9/14/2020
Nareh Vartanian (11) won the At No. 3 singles, beating Union Grove 6-1, 6-1. The Hawks also won at No. 4 singles as Madeline Nelson defeated Burlington’s Sam Taylor 6-4, 7-5 in the final match.
Girls’ Swimming -Elk Invitational | 9/12/2020
PSC Aquatics (Prairie/St. Catherine’s) placed 4th, scoring 310 points, in the Elk Invitational. All PSC athletes earned at least one medal.
- Zoe D’Alessandro (9): Scored 2nd in the (FR) with a time of 1:23.76 in the 100 Meter Breaststroke and 4th with a time of 1:23.76 in the 200 Meter Individual Medley.
- Lilie Larson (11) & Zoe D’Alessandro (9), Olivia Andreasen (SCHS 12) & Fien Meuleman (11) placed 5th with a time of 2:31.88 in the 200 Meter Medley Relay.
- Georgia Swedberg (9), Olivia Andreasen (SCHS 12), Lizzy May (12), Lilie Larson (11) also placed 5th with a time of 2:26.72 in the 200 Meter Freestyle Relay.
