Andreucci Family Recognized with Wisconsin Athletic Director’s Service Award

Whether it is a small or large school, parent volunteerism is the foundation of many successful athletic programs around the country. It is no different here at The Prairie School. Our volunteers play many roles including sleepovers and pasta party hosts, ticket takers, game day volunteers, uniform and warm up advisors and even coaches. The endless support of our parents is indeed the heart of the Prairie School Hawks!

This year, the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association will recognize and honor individuals and families who have played a crucial role in helping athletics programs thrive. On Tuesday, January 21, Sandy Freres, athletic director at Prairie School, recognized a very special and long-serving family. Jim and Marie Andreucci have been part of the Prairie community since enrolling their oldest Kate in 2001. Their youngest, Michael, is a junior and a member of the boys’ basketball and golf teams, and Kate Varsity lettered all four years in both volleyball and basketball. Their support extends outside of athletics, but their commitment to Prairie’s athletic programs and athletes is a testament to their belief in the school’s mission and vision. By supporting their children in their athletic endeavors, the Andreuccis have demonstrated how important a balanced educational experience is in the life of a child.

Jim Andreucci began coaching his daughter’s basketball team in second grade. He later served as the Middle School basketball coach through the Racine Parochial Athletic League (RPAL) as well as a Racine traveling team coach that made history for many of our young Prairie athletes. Together, he and his wife organized a summer visit with a young girls team from Denmark who participated in a summer tournament on Prairie’s campus. Keeping the book, manning the clock, coaching and serving as an avid fan and cheerleader, Jim Andreucci is the ultimate Hawk Fan!

Meanwhile, Marie creates community, serving as the go-to parent for all things related to athletics. Her involvement has extended beyond being a team parent for basketball and volleyball. She has organized countless pasta parties, team dinners, senior nights, and has also organized trips in support of our girls’ advancement to State Tournaments in basketball. Marie is the trusted organizer for both our parents and athletes.

Please join us in congratulating Marie and Jim Andreucci for their dedication and hard work over the last eight years. This year, we are honored to serve them with the District 7 Wisconsin Athletic Director’s Service Award!
