Early School (Pre-Kindergarten) Teacher:

Our Primary School is searching for a passionate, creative, energetic outgoing professional to join our expanding Early School Program for the 2017-2018 school year.  The ideal candidate must have a joyful growth mindset, possess strong classroom management skills, an excitement for teaching and the ability to relay that enthusiasm to students. The ideal candidate will have the skills necessary to differentiate for students, taking them at their developmental levels and supporting growth academically, socially and emotionally.

This full-time teaching assignment is for our Early School program working with multi-age groups of 3 and 4-year-old children. The ability to collaborate with parents and colleagues and contribute to a strong learning community is important.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in education is required along with a certification in early childhood education or equivalent; a master’s degree and 3-5 years experience teaching are preferred.  

The Prairie School, a child-centered, college-preparatory day school is seeking a part-time assistant to work Monday thru Friday, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The Primary School seeks an energetic, outgoing professional to support our extended day program as an assistant.

Responsibilities include organizing and supervising programs that will engage students ages 3-13 years of age. Candidate must be flexible to changing situations, with the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will work well in a professional environment, be flexible in schedule, a team player with good verbal communication skills and have basic computer skills including entry level Word & Excel. Candidate must be a self-starter and maintain excellent attendance. Hourly wage is based on experience.

The Substitute Teacher will take the place for the primary teacher during their absence.

Required Professional Qualities:

  • Hold a valid State of Wisconsin teaching license (Substitute or Standard).
  • Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the Division Head.
  • Manage the classroom environment according to the current school ethos and culture.
  • Promote student learning in the absence of the current subject-area teacher.
  • Provide guidance as an advisor/advocate.

Director of Education: Psychology and Counseling:
The Prairie School is seeking an experienced, passionate, energetic outgoing professional School Psychologist to join our school community for the 2017-2018 school year. The ideal candidate must be able to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally; to collaborate with faculty, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment that strengthens connections between home, school, and the community. The ability to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team to determine the student’s eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and ongoing progress is a must.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Psychology is required; plus 5-7 years experience are preferred.
