Where are they now?

The Prairie School has a national community of alumni, who are actively shaping the world—nationally or locally, publicly or quietly. In 1970, our first graduating class of 19 students, began their endeavors as young adults. Since then we’ve graduated close to 1,800 students. From authors to musicians, to doctors and lawyers, we’re amazed with the journeys and experiences our students have after graduating. Our alumni constitute a valued and important part of our school community. We celebrate this richness and encourage alumni to remain in touch.

Alumni Council

Prairie’s Alumni Council was created to serve the needs of a growing alumni population. The Council meets quarterly to discuss upcoming events and facilitate communication between Prairie alums and their alma mater. Activities are organized on behalf of the Alumni Council, including individual class reunions and invitations to Prairie-related events. The Alumni Council encourages active participation from all Alumni Association members, and benefits from ideas and suggestions provided by alums.

I can't believe Prairie Cinnamon Rolls could cause such interest. I received about 30 e-mails. I feel great that so many of you remembered me. Maybe I will do a Prairie alumni recipe book. Besides the rolls, apple fritters, corn bread, remember the homemade (or should I say school made) hamburger buns, dinner rolls, Italian bread and of course the Ranger cookies? I'll have to think about it.

Some of you asked about Dorothy. Sorry to say she passed away on January 1, 2012 at the age of 81. She raised 8 kids, had almost 30 grandkids and oodles of great-grandkids. She was a great mentor and a second mom to me. I truely miss her. But through you, she surely left her mark on Prairie.
