Where are they now?

The Prairie School has a national community of alumni, who are actively shaping the world—nationally or locally, publicly or quietly. In 1970, our first graduating class of 19 students, began their endeavors as young adults. Since then we’ve graduated close to 1,800 students. From authors to musicians, to doctors and lawyers, we’re amazed with the journeys and experiences our students have after graduating. Our alumni constitute a valued and important part of our school community. We celebrate this richness and encourage alumni to remain in touch.

Alumni Council

Prairie’s Alumni Council was created to serve the needs of a growing alumni population. The Council meets quarterly to discuss upcoming events and facilitate communication between Prairie alums and their alma mater. Activities are organized on behalf of the Alumni Council, including individual class reunions and invitations to Prairie-related events. The Alumni Council encourages active participation from all Alumni Association members, and benefits from ideas and suggestions provided by alums.

Hey Alumni pals,

I'm Katie Lafond, I graduated in 2012. This past year I released a project called Siren. It turned out to be a vibey, pop, really chill sound. Under Siren I released a song called "Just Right" with my buddy Casey Soyk. We found out that the song was nominated for song of the year for the 88.9 Radio Milwaukee Music Awards.
I would love your vote if you have a few moments. Just log on to this website and find "Just Right" by Casey Soyk ft Siren under the Song of the Year category.

Maria Windh-Lind '85 passed away on October 3, 2014, from complications
of leukemia. She grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, where she developed an early passion for art, academics and impersonating Donald Duck. Maria attended The Prairie School where she designed a mural that set a playful rhythm of energy, hope and determination for those passing through its halls.
Maria applied her creative passion for art throughout her career as a graphic designer and an art director. She designed ad campaigns and directed photo shoots for national hair salons. She also designed extensively for the Stanford Alumni Association. Whimsy, simplicity and elegance were common motifs across her designs.
More recently, Maria's creative and compassionate spirit had been focused on providing nurturing care and love for her family, including her husband Dan, their daughter Sophia (14) and son Cooper (11). Maria sustained a devout commitment to her community and to serving those in need. Maria's daily gift to all those she encountered was the warm embrace of her comforting and contagious smile.
