The Prairie School has a national community of alumni, who are actively shaping the world—nationally or locally, publicly or quietly. In 1970, our first graduating class of 19 students, began their endeavors as young adults. Since then we’ve graduated close to 1,800 students. From authors to musicians, to doctors and lawyers, we’re amazed with the journeys and experiences our students have after graduating. Our alumni constitute a valued and important part of our school community. We celebrate this richness and encourage alumni to remain in touch.

Where Are They Now?

Miriam Newman JacobsonVery sad news. Thanks for keeping us informed. I have vague memories of him, but nonetheless, much too short of a life.9 hours ago
Julie Olsen DeGrootWhat? Crazy! He went on the Grand Canyon trip the year I went. Do you know what happened?8 hours ago
Jennifer Henkes PopowskiI don't know really but a comment on his Facebook page alluded to suicide. But I don't know if that's accurate at all.5 hours ago

Julie Olsen DeGrootWell, if he didn't graduate with you, then he couldn't have gone on the Grand Canyon trip then. I was a junior and he a senior. Adam Emery, am I crazy or was he on our trip?4 hours ago
Adam EmeryHe was on our trip. He was also in my van with Max. He and I ran down when we got there. But yeah, he was in the class above us.4 hours ago

Ryan OfstieBy all accounts he suffered from mental illness that likely contributed to this result. I believe he was convicted a few years ago for attacking an elderly woman while intoxicated and off his meds. Really, the only thing I can remember of him at Prairie was his quirky mannerism (still evident at 40 years old in the video above) and when he scratched MISFITS into his entire forearm with a needle in gradeschool.31 minutes ago

Jennifer Henkes PopowskiMmm, love the smell of a cigar to this day. He quit because of me but chewed on them for about another year. I have an old yearbook pick from the late 70's where he's smoking in his office at school back when nobody thought anything of it.3 days ago   ·  2
