What Being a Hawk Means to Amiyah:
“Being a Hawk means representing your school with pride, no matter where you go.”

And represent she does – with heart, hustle, and humor. Whether she’s flying across hurdles or belting in choir, Amiyah brings joy and a sense of community to every moment.

“Amiyah is such a dynamic student and athlete,” said Kayla Zeno, Assistant Athletic Director and nominator. “She really takes to heart what she represents when she puts on a Prairie uniform and always carries herself with passion and respect.”

Coach Neal Johnson puts it simply: “She will beat you, kindly.” “She has endless energy, is one of the nicest kids you know, and is a fierce competitor,” he said.

Coach Kathleen Rooney added, “I totally agree with Coach Johnson. And boy, can that girl sing!”

Amiyah’s advisor, Rebecca Wheeler, shared a favorite story: “Amiyah and I have a long-running joke that she possesses Airbender superpowers – agility, speed, and manipulation of airborne objects like basketballs! Her positive energy and high spirits make every class, every moment, extra fun.”

From buzzer-beaters to biology, Amiyah brings the same supercharged spirit. She’s a leader, a friend, and the kind of Hawk everyone is proud to know.
