Boys' and Girls' Track

At a meet requiring very stringent qualifying standards at Arrowhead High School, the Hawks were represented well, even as one of the smallest schools participating in the event. Amiyah Galica ’26 continued her hot streak in hurdling events, breaking her own school record in the 300 hurdles and winning the event with a time of 45.69. She also brought home 6th place in the high jump. Bridget Cafferty ’25 set a new PR in the 400M with a time of 1:02.24. 

At Case High School on Tuesday, May 13th, the Hawks finished 4th overall as a girls’ team and 5th as a boys’ team. There were numerous PRs and medalists for the Hawks, including first place finishes by the Girls 4×800 team, Girls 4×200 team, Girls 4×400 team, Ty Ouradnik ’27 in both the 3200m and 1600m, and Cafferty in the 300 Hurdles. Liam Regner ’28 (100m), Nolan Gasser ’25 (400m), and Winter Schienke ’25 (shotput) each grabbed a second place medal. Maurice Carter ’26 (100m), Carly Lopez ’25 (1600m), Jonah Gasser ’28 (400m), and Meg White ’28 (200m) took third in their respective events. Madelyn Baumgardt ’28 (high jump) and Helina Slamka ’28 (300 Hurdles) took 4th, and the Boys 4×200, Aiden Yu ’28 (400m), Soleil Johnson ’28 (200m), and White (long jump) rounded out the top 5 finishers for the Hawks with their 5th place finishes. 

 

LP Baseball

Playing at Waterford High School on Monday, May 12th, the LPs struggled on both ends and lost 16-4 in 5 innings. Kyler Godson ’28 hit a double, and Jack Hood ’27 knocked in an RBI in the loss. 

The next day, running short on arms, the LPs took on conference rival Shoreland at Simmons Field in Kenosha and fell 17-2 in 5 innings. With the score tied 2-2 going into the third inning, the LPs gave up seven runs in the frame and eight more in the 4th en route to the loss. Godson continued swinging a hot bat with another double and an RBI. 

 

Boys' Golf

Playing without two seniors on Monday, May 12th, the Hawks took 3rd place by one stroke in the Pacer Challenge, which is played in Ryder Cup format. Connor Peery ’27 and Jack Ulrich ’26 led the way for the team, who teamed up to place 3rd overall. 

Back to full strength the next day, the Hawks squeaked out a one-stroke victory in a conference mini-meet at Brighton Dale. Will Schaefer ’25 and Jack Regner ’25 led the team, each shooting 43. Peery shot a 45, while Cai Yoo ’26 and Cooper Tollaksen ’28 added 48s for a team score of 179 to win the event. 

 

Girls' Soccer

The Hawks took on New Berlin Eisenhower in front of a home crowd on Friday, May 9th, and they did not disappoint. Once the girls settled into the game, they were able to control possession, but they failed to find the back of the net for much of the game. The breakthrough came early in the second half when Meg Decker ’25 punched in the game’s only goal to lead the team to a 1-0 victory. “I’m proud of the way the girls continue to play in the way that we want to be playing, as well as increasing our tempo and making some changes in the second half, said Coach Joe Manley

In a Metro Classic Conference matchup on May 14th, the girls took on St. Catherine’s and won 14-0 in a shortened game. Eight Hawks scored against the Angels, and another two added assists. Decker scored in the 9th minute with her first of three goals on the day. Also adding hat tricks for the Hawks were Elle Jaramillo ’26 and Norah Boerner ’25; they both also added an assist. Keira Kimbrough ’27 added a goal and three assists, while Victoria Rivera ’28 added a goal and an assist. Sydney Dues ’25, Anna Shaw ’25, and Maeve Harbour ’27 also added goals for the Hawks. Finley Remington ’27 and Tessa Pias ’28 added assists. 

 

Boys' Tennis

In a weekend quad against Horlick, Madison Country Day School, and Delavan-Darien, the Hawks came out with two wins. Starting against Horlick, the Hawks were able to pick up a 6-1 victory behind a doubles sweep and wins at 2, 3, and 4 singles. Jon Orth ’25 and Musa Rahman ’25 (#1 Doubles) only lost one game, while Alex Solodio ’25 and Alex Pias ’25 (#2 Doubles) had a clean 6-0, 6-0 match. Victor Rossi ’28 and Pablo Morcillo ’28 (#3 Doubles) picked up a win via forfeit. In singles matches, Eric Baptista ’28 (#2 Singles) won 6-4, 6-3, Cole Johnson ’27 (#3 Singles) won 7-6 (7), 6-3, while Colin Smith ’28 (#4 Singles) had a convincing 6-0, 6-0 win. 

Against Delavan Darien, the Hawks fell 4-3. Ben Menzhuber ’25 (#1 Singles) picked up the only singles win for the Hawks with his 6-1, 6-2 victory. Orth/Rahman had an exciting match, ultimately winning in a tiebreaker 7-5, 5-7, 10-4. Solodio/Johnson picked up the third win for the Hawks, winning 6-2, 6-1. 

In their third and final quad match, the Hawks picked up a 4-3 win over Madison Country Day School with another doubles sweep. Orth/Rahman won 6-0, 6-1, Solodio/Johnson won a close 7-6 (4), 6-4 match, and Pias/Kelly Baker ’25 won in a tiebreaker, 6-1, 3-6, 10-4. Gabi Kuvshinikov ’25 (#4 Singles) picked up the only singles win for the Hawks, winning 6-0, 6-1. 

In a battle of undefeated conference teams, the Hawks took on Martin Luther on Tuesday, May 13th, in a match to determine the conference champion. The Hawks prevailed, with Menzhuber winning 6-2, 6-2 and Orth/Rahman cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Smith/Baker picked up the win in a close match with a 6-3, 6-4 score. Baptista fought hard in his match but ultimately fell in a 10-point tiebreaker (3-6, 7-6(3), 10-8), and Martin Luther took the conference title with a 4-3 win.
