Girls' Soccer

Taking on Brookfield Academy in a rescheduled matchup on Tuesday, May 27th, the Hawks scored early and often against the Blue Knights. Keira Kimbrough ’27 started the scoring in the first minute of the game, followed by a goal in the third minute by Meg Decker ’25. Elle Jaramillo ’26 scored in the 12th minute, followed by Meghan Gavigan ’27 in the 20th minute. Emma Meier ’28 capped off the first half scoring with a goal in the 27th minute as the Hawks cruised to a 5-0 lead at the break. Meier scored her second of the game in the 42nd minute, while Gavigan put the final touches on her hat trick with goals in the 46th and 50th minutes to finish the scoring in the 8-0, 60 minute game. Coach Joe Manley notes it was a “really strong performance from Gavigan in the midfield. He adds, “I was very impressed with the play of our forwards and midfielders, making small adjustments to our style that we’ve wanted to see.”

On Wednesday, May 28th, the team celebrated their six seniors – Meg Decker, Norah Boerner, Sydney Dues, Luella Pias, Anna Shaw, and Natalie Hoff  in their game against Dominican and won 9-0. This capped an undefeated conference season in which the Hawks did not allow a single goal to their conference opponents. Boerner made the most of her senior night, scoring a hat trick with goals in the 3rd, 5th, and 32nd minutes. Decker scored in the 19th minute, Dues added her own in the 42nd minute, and Hoff punched one in just before the game ended. Gavigan scored two, and Jaramillo added another. “We moved the ball well and created several chances, said Coach Joe Manley. “It was a wonderful night honoring our seniors.”

LP Baseball

In a home-and-away series against the Dominican Knights, where both games were rescheduled multiple times due to weather, the LPs were able to earn a split series. On Memorial Day, the LPs battled and scored five in the 7th inning to take the lead 5-1 before the Knights scored four in the bottom half to force extra innings. Adding another run in the top half of the 8th, the LPs ultimately lost on a walk-off walk in the 8th.  Liam Larsen ’27 pitched three scoreless innings, striking out four. Jack Hood ’27 hit a double and knocked in two RBIs. Gabe Posnanski ’26 also knocked in an RBI.

The next day was a different story for the LPs as they took on the Knights again. After scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning, they added three-run frames in the 3rd and 4th innings and played great defense en route to a 9-1 win. Posnanski knocked in 4 RBIs for the LPs, while Noel Turek ’28 returned to the mound and pitched three scoreless innings, notching eight strikeouts to finish off the game.

On Thursday, May 29th, LP took on conference rival Thomas More in a WIAA Regional matchup at The Rock and lost 9-0, ending their season. The boys were only down 2-0 at the end of the third inning, but they couldn’t get their bats going, and the Cavaliers opened up the game with four runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to seal the win. The LPs managed only one hit in the loss.
