Girls' Soccer
At a well-attended Primary School Fan Night on Friday, May 30th, the Hawks had numerous opportunities in the first half against an undefeated Tremper. They were unable to capitalize on these chances, however. Tremper broke through in a rainy second half to beat our Hawks 3-0. This was the last regular season game for the Hawks and a great test against a quality opponent before their opening-round 8-0 mercy rule victory against St. Anthony in the WIAA playoffs on June 5th at Prairie.
Keira Kimbrough ’27 started the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by Elle Jarimillo ’26. Five minutes later, Kimbrough picked up the first of her three assists as a rebounded header found the foot of Meg Decker ’25 who gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead. From there the Hawks never looked back. Nora Boerner (2) ’25, Kimbrough, Decker, Maeve Harbour ’27, Meghan Gavigan ’27, Braelyn Worden ’27, and Victoria Rivera ’28 found the back of the net for the #2 Hawks who now take on #7 New Berlin West tomorrow, Saturday, June 7th in a 1:00PM Regional Final at Prairie.
Boys' & Girls' Track
The Hawks competed at Princeton High School in their Sectional meet on Friday, May 30th. As a team, the girls placed third out of thirty teams. “I couldn’t have asked for more from those who competed,“ said Coach Neal Johnson. When it was all said and done, the Hawks walked away with three new school records and twelve girls qualifying for the WIAA State Track Championships. Amiyah Galica ’26 broke her school record and won the 300 Hurdles with a time of 45.68. She was also a part of the 4×400 Relay team with Bridget Cafferty ’25, Carly Lopez ’25, and Abby Lopez ’25, who broke the school record and took second place in the meet with a time of 4:11.86. Also qualifying for state on the girls’ side were the 4×100 Relay team (Izzy Baumgardt ’25, JJ Barnes ’25, Meg White ’28, Galica), who took first, the 4×800 Relay team (Helina Slamka ’28, Abby Lopez, Cafferty, Carly Lopez) in second place, Carly Lopez with a third place finish in the 800M, and Cafferty with a fourth place finish in the 800M. Although no boys were able to qualify for state, they still set a school record in the 4×100 Relay (Maurice Carter ’26, Liam Regner ’28, Jonah Gasser ’28, and Jackson Meier ’27) with a time of 46.24. Meier also notched a PR in the 300 Hurdles (43.24), as did Ty Ouradnik ’27 in the 3200M (10:24.10).
Boys' Golf
Dealing with illness, injury, and adverse weather conditions, the Hawks played at Sectionals on June 3rd and, unfortunately, were unable to send any qualifiers to the WIAA State Tournament. Jack Regner ’25 led the Hawks with a 92, Will Schaefer ’25 followed with a 93, Cai Yoo ’26 shot a 94, Connor Peery ’27 a 96, and Jack Ulrich ’26 a 105. Despite no qualifiers, Coach Carrie Massey is impressed with this team, who went 6-0 in the conference, were Regional Champions, and had all five varsity players receive All-State Academic Awards. “They cared about each other, cared about being competitive. They were the ultimate definition of a team.” Thank you for a great season, boys!
