Competing in a highly competitive meet in which top schools from multiple surrounding states attend, the Hawks showed a lot of grit and drive. SchienkeIzzy Baumgardt ’25 (55 hurdles), Meg White ’28 (55M), and Carly Lopez (800M) qualified for indoor state at this event

LP Baseball

The LPs opened the season against Delavan-Darien on April 1st. The young team wasn’t able to muster much on the offensive end, only getting two hits in the game. Coupled with nine walks issued, four hit batsmen, and six errors, the LPs fell 15-1 against the Comets. Gabe Posnanski ’26 picked up a hit and the only RBI for the LPs.

The boys fought against Horlick and fell 6-5 in a very competitive game at Kenosha Bradford on April 3rd. Able to get the bats going, Noel Turek ’28 collected his first varsity hit, Liam Adams ’28 scored two runs, and Kyler Godson ’28 scored a run. Owen and Liam Larsen ’27 pitched for the LPs, only allowing two earned runs each. “It was a very good game,” said Assistant Coach David Reske. “The Larsen twins pitched very well. Unfortunately, we lost in walk-off fashion, but I’m excited to see what we have in store for the rest of the season.”

In their third game of the week, the LP bats played Racine Park on Friday, April 4th. In a mercy-rule-shortened game, the LPs beat the Panthers 18-2 behind a complete game shutout thrown by Turek, who struck out 12 batters while only allowing four hits and no earned runs over his five innings. Turek helped himself by going 3 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. Adams and Jack Hood ’27 added two RBIs each. RLHS players Eli Gasau and Spencer Knoell each added 3 RBIs for the LPs.

Taking on state-ranked Kenosha St. Joe’s on a frigid day at Carthage College on April 8th, the LPs could not muster any offense en route to a 17-0 loss to the Lancers. The young team (seven of the nine starters were freshmen and sophomores) is eager to return to the field and learn from this game as they progress through the season.

Completing their season series against the St. Joe’s on April 10th at Horlick Field, the LPs struggled at the plate, scoring only one run on two hits. The Lancers continued to swing hot bats and finished with 14 hits in the 17-1 game.

Girls' Soccer

The Hawks opened their season against conference foe Kenosha St. Joe’s on April 9th in Kenosha. Rain, snow, and mud did not prevent the Hawks from beginning the year on a winning note as they took down the Lancers 3-0. After a 0-0 first half, Meg Decker ’25 opened the scoring for the Hawks on a pass from Addy Ruetz ’26. Keira Kimbrough ’27 added the second two goals, assisted by Victoria Rivera ’28. The girls will travel to Waterford for their next game on Monday, April 14th, before playing their home opener on Tuesday, April 15th, against Kettle Moraine Lutheran.
