What Being a Hawk Means to Zac:
“For me, being a Hawk is all about using all the resources available from the school to push yourself as much as possible – to be the best student and community member possible.”
Zac’s commitment to excellence spans every dimension of school life. Whether he’s crafting a precision light cue, adjusting his shot put form, or guiding classmates, Zac brings a rare mix of focus, creativity, and leadership.
“Zac’s focus on the smallest details of his throwing technique is amazing,” said Neal Johnson, Zac’s track coach and advisor. “He’s highly coachable, listens intently, and supports those around him – reminding teammates to tidy up, helping new throwers find their way, and modeling leadership without ever needing a spotlight.”
In the theater, Zac’s brilliance shines just as brightly, sometimes in 220 individually programmed lighting cues. “Zac’s leadership and commitment to excellence are what make him a complete scholar, artist, athlete, and leader.” said Technical Director Aaron Christianson. “He pushed the standard of lighting at TPS by learning how to create effects we hadn’t even tried before. He knew what he wanted and figured out how to make it happen.”
Next year, Zac will bring his passion for innovation to Purdue University, where he’ll major in Mechanical and Motorsport Engineering. Until then, we’re proud to celebrate him as a Hawk You Should Know!
