Support What Matters to You!

One of the best parts of a Prairie experience is that every child’s time on campus is unique – and just like our students, donors to Prairie have a variety of people and programs that are important to them. When you make a contribution to the school, you can restrict it to a specific area or opportunity, such as:

Scholarships

Prairie offers scholarships to students in grades 1-12, and over half of our student body is able to attend TPS thanks to our robust scholarship fund. Scholarships are funded with income from the Prairie’s endowment, donations made by friends of the school, and the proceeds from our two annual fundraising events: the Golf Classic & Dinner and the Prairie Premiere. Faculty Development

It’s the people who make Prairie, Prairie – and our faculty are a huge part of what brings our school to life. Prairie makes sure to provide ample opportunities for ongoing education and professional development, and a contribution to this area ensures our teachers have the same access to learning opportunities as our students do. Division or Program Area

Was it 1st grade shark dissection that led to a lifelong interest in zoology? Or did you discover the Bard in Upper School English and go on to write your own plays? How about that time you raised the golden ball at the state soccer tournament? Whatever it was that sparked your passion or curiosity – or that of your child! – during your time at Prairie, you can make a gift to specifically support that area: the Performing Arts, the science department, athletics, buildings and grounds, or nearly any other program you can imagine. Special Projects

From time to time, Prairie’s Board of Trustees will announce a special campaign that reaches beyond the school’s normal fundraising initiatives. Past projects that were made possible in this way include the Upper School, the Johnson Athletic Center (JAC), and the creation of the Student Resource Center (SRC). Prairie has also grown its endowment, renovated science labs, and created new performing arts spaces thanks to the donors who supported these important projects.

The most recent campaign – known as Bigger, Better, Together – launched its public phase in early 2020, and the doors to the Leipold Johnson Early Childhood Center officially opened on a sunny afternoon in late August of 2021. Listen as Dr. Coffman discusses the vision, commitment, and hard work required to open a new building during a pandemic.
