Whether you’re curious about Primary, Middle, or Upper School, this complete campus tour will allow you to see everything Prairie has to offer. Prospective students and parents are invited for an up close and personal look at Prairie! Conducted during the hustle and bustle of a real school day, this Open House will give you a glimpse into life as a Prairie student!
Mini Masters Series
For children ages 1 to 3 years and their parents
We’re excited to continue our popular Mini Masters programming for the 2023-24 school year. For prospective students and families, these up-tempo classes with Prairie faculty will introduce children ages 1 to 3 to a variety of important concepts, while also affording parents and kids the chance to participate in some of Primary School’s favorite activities and lessons!
Discovery Days
For prospective Early School and Kindergarten students and their parents
Required as part of the application process, our Discovery Days afford your child a chance to be assessed for pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten readiness. During the observation, parents are required to stay on campus for an important informational session in our new Leipold Johnson Early Childhood Center, during which they can ask questions about Prairie.

Kindermusik at Prairie

Student Showcase
For families of students currently in Grades 5-10
Monday, October 23rd from 6:00 - 8:00PM
Give your prospective middle or high school student a chance to experience all the unique opportunities that Prairie has to offer. From math-centered escape rooms to the dissection of pig hearts to personalized strength and conditioning plans and screen-printing t-shirts, participants will engage in actual activities that highlight the TPS experience.
Middle and Upper School Visit Day
For prospective 6th - 10th Grade Families.
Wednesday, November 1st from 8AM - 3PM
Experience Prairie alongside future Hawks! Intentionally created to allow your child to visit campus with prospective students their own age, participants will be paired with current Prairie students for an up close and personal look at everything from classes to activities. There’s no better way to see if Prairie is the place for your child!
Please note: a completed application for enrollment is required in order for your child to participate in Visit Day.
During the day, your child will also take a math exam to help with class placement should you enroll.
Drop-off and pickup will be at #Door 2 (Welcome Desk)
Students have the choice of getting school lunch or bringing one from home
Students should dress in clothes that are clean and neat
Visit Day: Experience Life as a TPS Student
If you and your child loved what you saw during your campus tour, the next step is to experience a true day in the life of a Prairie School student.
Students interested in 1st through 12th grade have the opportunity to visit campus for a regular school day where we'll try to pair them with a student who has similar interests. They will go to class, participate in learning, make some awesome art, get sweaty in gym – all of it!
If your son or daughter has a friend at Prairie who they'd like to spend their visit with, we will certainly take that into consideration as well!
Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten...at The Prairie School!
Maybe it's the awesome recesses on the Prairie playground. Or gym with Mr. Schafer or music with Mr. O. Maybe it's the nature unit or the space unit or the robotics unit. Maybe it's the Puff Ball Parties or Pajama Days. Maybe it's the learning to read. Or the pumpkin farm field trip. Or making their own lava lamps. Truth is, it's tough to pick the most awesome part of Kindergarten here at Prairie. We just know there's a whole lot to love.
